works as advertised. strapped this device in my 24 volt gas forced air furnace made by the carrier. my old thermostat had batteries, so I had to use the spare wire to connect the municipality at the oven with the municipality at the thermostat so that the thermostat to receive power. works great with my system Nexia (a $ 9.99 covers all devices connected). the programming is easy via a web page, once connected to the Z-Wave network.
